The Better Journeys committee are extremely grateful for the generous support the charity has received from the fundraising efforts of Martyn and Susie Dorey.

They ran the Marathon de Medoc in sweltering conditions in memory of their inspirational nephew and early Better Journeys supporter Tom Dorey.

In doing so, they raised nearly £5k to support the work of encouraging and enabling more sustainable transport in the Channel Islands.

Thank so much Team Dorey. Legendary work!

The funds will help The Better Journeys Project expand their plans for 2026, which include

  • The re-launch of the Golden Guernsey award with the Health Improvement Commission (of which Tom was a past winner),

  • The rolling out of the Better Journeys Project to the Isle of Man, with all that entails,

  • The launch of a new active travel fund for schools in Jersey and Guernsey.

The entire committee offers their profound thanks for the support and the trust shown in the work we're doing.
