Sixth Form Centre Student wins Coveted "Yellow Guernsey"

We were down at Le Tricoteur on the day before the start of the The Tour de France for the relaunch of the Yellow Guernsey Award that recognises local active travel heroes who inspire the community.

Monty Desforges was the very worthy winner for his work championing better ways of getting to school at the Sixth Form Centre in Guernsey.

He is now the proud owner of the coveted, strictly limited edition, sunburst yellow Guernsey made there by local artisans.

We have loved working with the Health Improvemnt Commission here in Guernsey to relaunch their original campaign.

Poignantly the Yellow Guernsey was actually awarded to Monty by Laurence Dorey, mother of one of the last winners, the inspirational Thomas Dorey, and the funding for the award has in part come from the Tom Dorey Eco Legacy.
