Tom Dorey was a truly inspiration young man who was passionate about encouraging a more sustainable world, more sustainable ways of getting about and who led by example.

He was tragically taken from us last year, but his legacy really, really lives on in hearts and minds.

Tom (and his buddy Joseph Blake) earned the Golden Guernsey for their admirable commitment to active transport whilst at Elizabeth College, Guernsey, and created incredible change there. That was just a tiny example of his many achievements he squeezed into his life.

I remember him as a very cool guy, but completely inclusive and friendly to all. A deep thinker and a man of action rolled into one. Robert Dorey and Laurence Dorey and the whole tight and supportive Dorey clan raised a legend.

His amazing and lovely cousin Tabitha Dorey is running a half marathon and is raising funds to support his eco legacy. She has chosen to raise money for The Better Journeys Project which works across Guernsey and Jersey to encourage and facilitate more sustainable ways to get around. Tom was an early supporter of our work.

Please support her and Tom in getting the best for our island communities by pledging on her justgiving page.

Thanks to Tabitha Dorey from me and the rest of the Better Journeys Committee
