We're delighted to be using Better Journeys Week to announce the relaunch of the Yellow Guernsey award.

You may remember the Yellow Guernsey Award, an initiative by the Health Improvement Commission, supported by the Better Journeys Project, celebrating islanders who have changed lives (including their own) through cycling.
One of those unforgettable winners was Tom Dorey, whose genius ideas, enthusiasm, and tireless advocacy for cycling as everyday transport inspired so many across the island. Tragically, Tom tragically passed away far too soon, but his legacy lives on through the Tom Dorey Eco Legacy, which supports the work of the Better Journeys Project.
So, during Better Journeys Week, while we’re all thinking about how we travel, it feels like the perfect moment to relaunch the Yellow Guernsey Award.
And even better? A brand new bespoke Guernsey jumper, knitted in a stunning ‘Sunburst Yellow’ yarn, is already being made by the creative team at Le Tricoteur for our first new winner… to be announced very soon.
We'll also be launching the award (with a different type of garment!) in Jersey and the Isle of Man later in the summer. Watch this space.
